Forbes Sports Money index

For this post i decided i would write about something that i found interesting that has been recently discussed on Forbes. We all know there is a lot of money to be made in sports, from TV deals to sponsorship millions of dollars are moving in and out of the sports industry every day. One question I've always wanted to know the answer of is who makes the most? The sports money index is what they call it, and it's a list made by Forbes of the top money makers in the sports industry. First of all let's discuss the number one spot and that to no surprise goes to Nike. Nike has been around for a while and every year they add top athletes to their fleet, what that has accumulated is them being one of the most recognizable brands ever. Spending money on people like Lebron James, Michael Jordan, and much more they have been able to cement their name in the sports industry for now and many years to come. Now when it come's to individual athletes the first one on the list coming at number 5 is Lebron james. Lebron is coming off a championship year and is now in one of the top teams in the NBA. I was surprised to see such worldwide exposure from a basketball athlete but to his credit lebron has been everywhere the past year. From a lifetime contract with Nike to winning a championship, it's certainly safe to say that 2016 has been a year for Lebron James. The rest of the list includes European soccer teams, NBA and NFL teams, and much more. In realtion to topics discussed on the class room i think it is extremely difficult to brand yourself as an individual. You become the talk of the town, and the minute you do something wrong it's all over the place. That's why i think Lebron deserves much more credit than he gets. He's a role model to a lot of youg children and he understands that and that's why i think he has been able to climb up the ladder of all time great athletes. For a lot of ball players drugs and women can become a distraction and even a downfall but with Lebron his story has been squeaky clean throughout his career, he has a family and 3 children so i would guess he has it figured out. With all that in mind it now makes perfect sense as to why he's high up on the index.
